The Title One Teacher Assistant is directly responsible to the Building Principal and indirectly responsible to the Director of School Improvement.
Location: Lyon
Responsibilities: (1) Assist reading teacher and/or classroom teacher of identified Title One students needing additional individual support with daily lessons as scheduled or assigned; (2) Provide additional assistance to students who require assistance with online intervention resources, learning center work, or small group work assignments in student’s language of instruction; (3) Maintain Title One learning materials purchased for intervention program in assigned building inventory and learning center materials; (4) Assist with ongoing student assessment, portfolio organization and or input of data from DIBELS; (5) Assist in creating an atmosphere, which stimulates intellectual activities; (6) Attend all Title One staff meetings and professional development opportunities; (7) Perform other related tasks as assigned by Building Principal or Director of School Improvement.
Qualifications: (1) High School diploma or equivalent; (2) 60 College Credits or Associate Degree; (3) Illinois State and NCLB Approved Paraprofessional Certificate; (4) Ability to pass the paraprofessional basic skills test administered in the Human Resources Office, 1201 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan, IL 60085
Salary: $10.51 per hour
Additional Information: 7.5 hours day/ 37.5 weeks
