TITLE: BUS MONITOR
QUALIFICATIONS

JOB GOAL
The Bus Monitor is responsible for providing
assistance to the bus driver. They help ensure safety rules and
procedures are followed by students.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Bus Monitor to the bus driver and
transportation supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1 Maintains discipline when students are on the
bus and reports uncorrected misconduct to the student's
principal
2. Assists in supervising students during bus
loading and unloading, emergency drills, and transitions
between schools;
3. Works with individual students or small
groups of students as directed by the bus driver to reinforce
bus rules and safety procedures;
4. Assumes responsibility for knowing and
following the safety rules and proper procedures associated
with the responsibilities of the job;
4. Does not use profanity or tobacco, in any
form, at any time on the bus
5. Is courteous at all times with students,
parents, and teachers;
6. Attends to the personal needs of the disabled
student including helping student load and unload buses,
putting on seat belts performing other physical activities as
their needs arise; and
7. Performs other duties as assigned by the
Transportation Supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job requires lifting of objects that exceed
50 lbs., or the average weight of a child. Other physical
demands that may be required are as follows:

WORK CONDITIONS
Normal working environment will generally
prevail but some physical discomfort may be experienced due to
being outside of buildings and vehicles in varying weather
conditions.
