Primary Purpose:
Implement and support district-level multi-media/videography efforts at the direction of the Communications
Officer. Develop district-level video productions from concept to completion, including all necessary
scripting, filming, content and overall creative design
Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):
Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, journalism, communications, film or related field preferred. Minimum of 3
years related experience in video production or related field, successful practical demonstration of the above,
through previous employment and portfolio, experience working in public school system preferred
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of video editing and formatting
Apply technical expertise and knowledge to other district-directed projects as well as field technical support
and troubleshooting
Support campus, department and program-specific Internet solutions for public/stakeholder consumption
Occasional attendance at daytime or evening campus/district events
Occasional videography at daytime or evening campus/district events
Provide audio-visual support for district events and as a substitute for A/V technical staff when necessary
Update District website with new content/photos/video
Support overall District communications strategy, planning and strategic direction
Support other members of the Community Relations Department in fulfillment of duties and responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications Officer
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience and training in the fundamentals of current video production techniques including computer
generated graphics and animation (both 2D and 3D) as well as computer based linear/non-linear editing
equipment
Experience using Avid or Final Cut Pro editing systems, including digitizing from a variety of sources
Knowledge of Photoshop, AfterEffects, Illustrator and DVD Studio Pro or similar applications
Knowledge of or ability to learn website content management system
Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of public relations
Demonstrated ability take a project from concept to completion with minimal supervision and direction
Creativity in producing videos that meet the expectations of project clients and district administrators
Ability to function productively as a member of a creative team
