Requirements:

Master's degree
in speech and language pathology from an accredited college or
university
·
Certificate of
Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association
·
Willing
to consider applicants who are looking to complete clinical
fellowship
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
·
Ability to
conduct a variety of assessments that are in compliance with IDEA
regulations and reflect research based practices
·
Evidence of
successful clinical experience in communication disorders and
language development at the school age level
·
Understanding of
Michigan Special Education laws and IDEA as these relate to the
eligibility of students with speech and language disorders for
special education related services
·
Ability to use
data to develop present levels of student academic and functional
performance that guide goal development and targeted
interventions
·
Experience in
planning and implementing effective treatment plans with the
focus on remediation for deficit skills and supporting students
with disabilities in the school setting
·
Knowledge of the
use of visual supports to allow students with communication
disorders to access instruction in the school setting
·
Ability to work
effectively and cooperative with students, teachers,
administrators and parents to provide effective treatments that
support student learning in the school setting
