TITLE:
Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Specialist
II.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A.
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Behavioral
Science or Medicine.
B.
Course work in the areas of psychology, social
work, special education, counseling, rehabilitation, etc.
C.
Emotionally mature and stable.
D.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the
public.
E.
Previous experience working with children and
adolescents.
F.
Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be
performed.
G.
Able to perform assigned tasks.
H.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications
as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
III.
REPORTS TO:
Emotional/Behavior Disturbance Specialist.
IV.
JOB GOALS:
To support
the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested
and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student
achievement.
To assist students with emotional disturbance by implementing
services as prescribed by the Individual Education Plan or
Behavior Intervention Plan.
V.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A.
Delivers interventions in the area of
appropriate school related behaviors and interpersonal
skills.
B.
Collects and reports progress data to
supervisor.
C.
Attends school meetings concerning assigned
students.
D.
Provides support related to activities of
daily living in areas such as personal hygiene, transportation
and money management.
E.
Assists students in organizing materials and
class assignments.
F.
Listens and resolves student issues and/or
refers to the Building Principal.
G.
Provides prompts to assist student in managing
behavior.
H.
Furnishes guidelines and prompts to assist the
student in appropriate social behavior.
I.
Functions as a member of a team of people
providing assistance to the student.
J.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior
and confidentiality.
K.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
VI.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
VII.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position scheduled for 7 hours per day
during the school year. Benefits will be in accordance
with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with
the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 9 - $15.74 per
hour.
This is an "at will" position in that the
employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or
for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal
law.
The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or
in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in
writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of
District 91.
VIII.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the
Emotional/Behavior Disturbance Specialist in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of
classified personnel.
This position
has been given an overall physical classification of light
duty.
