 SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience as bus driver preferred
2. Knowledge of traffic and school bus regulations
3. Possession of school bus driver’s license
4. Good physical condition
5. Ability to follow oral and written directions
6. Ability to work with and supervise children

REPORTS TO:    Administrator as assigned

JOB GOAL:         To transport students to and from school and on extracurricular activities in safe and efficient manner

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Drives school bus on assigned route to carry pupils to and from school and on extracurricular trips
2. Cleans and washes buses
3. Works in shop performing odd jobs as necessary in transportation department
4. Performs other related duties as assigned


SALARY:           Prorated salary based on hours worked. Eight (8) hour equivalent: $2,444 - $2,972 per month

EVALUATION:     Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District’s “Improvement of Professional Services” handbook, Board 
                          Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable

NEW PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES AND PERMANENT EMPLOYEES WHO BECOME PROBATIONARY UPON RECLASSIFICATION:

A new employee or permanent employee who is changed to a new classification shall serve a probationary period which shall not exceed one year of duty time, exclusive of leaves of absence or other absences. During this probationary period, the employee must meet the required standards of performance to be recommended for permanent status in the classification. A probationary classified service employee may be terminated from the probationary classification at any time without cause, without the right of appeal or hearing before the Board of Education. A permanent employee in the District shall not lose permanent status by virtue of a change to a new classification. In such a case, the District shall return the employee to the highest classification in which permanency was attained.

2. Current Medical Certificate
3. Current H-6 DMV printout
4. Current TO-1 card


Copies of required certificates, transcripts or diplomas may be submitted with application. District may require that originals be presented for verification prior to employment. Please check with Personnel Services regarding acceptable documents. For positions requiring college course work official transcripts will be required upon employment.
