CLASSIFIED SCHOOL NURSE BROOKS MIDDLE SCHOOL/STEP PROGRAM VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill the position of part-time (6 hours/day), Classified School Nurse for the 2012/2013 school year. Hours: 07:00 AM - 01:00 PM JOB SUMMARY: The Classified School Nurse is responsible to the building administrator for completing all health duties related to the school age student and completing all health duties related to identifying and serving students with disabilities, including, but not limited to, the following: providing direct services to disabled students, administering medication to students, providing consultation and assistance regarding specific student health needs; first aid and caring for ill students and staff; plus, emergency care for staff and students. The Classified School Nurse will assist the Certified School Nurse (at Brooks Middle School) in daily health office duties, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant must be an RN, training for vision and hearing certification is a plus. Complete CPR training is needed. WORKING CONDITIONS: The salary is determined in accordance with the Classified School Nurses salary schedule. The District offers excellent fringe benefits, including life, health and dental insurance. The work year for this position is 185 days.
