Description:

  1. Behavior interventions that provide  students with various approaches to resolve behavior issues
  2. Provide necessary communication links between staff, home and administration regarding behavior
  3. Works proactively to manage student behavior issues in order to advance an enriching learning environment
  4. Works collaboratively with all staff

Qualifications: 

  1. Illinois State Teacher Certification
  2. Demonstrates exemplary commuications skills
  3. Preferable prior experience with children

Responsibilities:

  1. Enforce discipline in accordance with policies set forth by the School District and the Building Principal

  2. Participate in the development of school procedures designed to affect positive school behavior

  3. Assist staff in maintaining appropriate school discipline which includes monitoring the hallways, classroom visits, locker checks, etc.

  4. Participate in any crisis intervention

  5. Communicate to students, parents, staff, and administration relating to student behaviors, attendance, truancies, and tardies

  6. Assist in general preventative programs

  7. Participate in workshops and/or training that address improving school climate, positive behavior strategies, diversity, safe school, etc.

  8. Assist with morning and after school supervision

  9. Assist staff in supervising the school lunch program

  10. Assist in dealing with attendance, truancies, and tardies

  11. Maintain accurate records of student disciplinary files, parent contacts concerning student behavior, and other programs

  12. Maintain security and confidentially of files, records, and other items relating to students and staff
  13. Assist in keeping the staff and administration aware of all behavioral incidents

  14. Provide staff and administration with information concerning student conflict and disciplinary cases

  15. Understand the ADA, IDEA and State Mandates regarding student and parent due process

  16. Provide for the safety and security of any and all students

  17. Follow universal precautions in accordance with OSHA standards
  18. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by administration

Terms of Contract

  1. Reports to the Principal

  2. Report to the Superintendent when necessary
