Attendance Para Officers (RTTT) - Part-time 29 hours/week

William Henry Middle School

Overview:

This position is temporary from year to year and is contingent on funding and performance.

  • Meet the outcome of improving student attendance as outlined in the RTTT application
  • Monitor and assist with attendance, enrollment, retention, and academic achievement of students in the designated school
  • Encourage and enable youth to meet the criteria of the present grade level and receive appropriate grades/scores to move to the next level
  • Provide services to help students improve their academic skills, test scores, and overall academic performance
  • Collaborate with others to insure that the needs of students may be addressed immediately
  • Record information and collect data regarding student attendance to meet the requirements of the Race to The Top Grant
  • Work effectively with students, parents, and all parties to establish a collaborative environment oriented toward improving the attendance of students in the school
  • Demonstrate effective telephone, email, and other necessary skills to work with students and families in order to improve attendance and student success
  • Work on a District team of Attendance Officers to receive direction and support in this position
  • Attend and learn job skills through professional development as requested by the District liaison or school administrator
  • Make home visits as needed and appear in court for truancy hearings as needed.
  • Results focused based on data
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualification:

Pass the Para-Pro Test, Associates Degree or its equivalent or 60 college credits

Standard Requirements

  • Favorable Criminal Background Check for the candidate who is offered employment.
  • Tuberculin test & physical.
  • Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck.
