Civitas Schools is an educational management organization,
which operates three campuses of Chicago International Charter School
(CICS). We serve approximately
2,100 students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 12, on three sites: CICS
Ralph Ellison High School, CICS Northtown Academy High School, and CICS
Wrightwood Elementary School.

Informed by the school's mission, teachers will
ensure that all students learn the content and skills required for academic
success as defined by curricular and instructional objectives and overarching
school goals. Instructors will teach appropriate content and skills by
utilizing curriculum material adopted by the school, as well as providing
appropriate supplemental and teacher-made materials; develop appropriate lesson
plans that accommodate the range of learning styles and specialized needs of
students in the classroom; create a learning environment that encourages
positive social interaction, active engagement, and self-motivation; and,
actively participate with colleagues in school improvement activities,
curriculum development, instructional planning, assessment development and
student support meetings. Candidate must have experience writing IEP goals, strong classroom
management skills, be innovative, organized, and have a high level of energy.

A Bachelor's degree and appropriate IL
certifications (LBS1) are required. A Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of work experience are preferred. Strength of academic background, professional experience, interview
performance, and references will be considered during the selection process.

Important Note: Promising candidates who are moved forward in the selection process, may be asked to do a demonstration lesson at our school (preferred), or provide a video taped lesson of themselves in front of students (least preferred option).
