Job Summary Requirements: The Assistant Director,
Nutrition Services, is directly responsible to the Director of
Nutrition Services
for the oversight of Nutrition Services procurement, marketing
(including website and student advisory groups), menu
management,
special diets, and staff training. In addition, the
Assistant Director directly supervises food service programs,
including but not limited to
NSLP, SBP, and CACFP at selected satellite school sites.
The Assistant Director provides general assistance to the
Director, and provides leadership and represents the department
in the absence of the Director. This individual must have
strong leadership qualities, initiative,
analytical and communication skills and the ability to use
good judgment. Hiring, training, and employee management
experience, procurement and food service financial management
experience, and experience with computer technology is
desired. The individual will commit to
working within, and supporting, the USD 259 School Service
Center vision statement - "With a combined commitment to
excellence, the SSC will provide the highest quality of service
and support to all students and staff, while maintaining
efficiency through effective communication and
respect." Five (5) years' experience in food service is
required, three (3) of which must have been in multi-unit
supervision in a commercial or
educational setting. School food service experience is
required. Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant Management, Food
and Nutrition, Dietetics or
related field required. SNS certification
preferred. Valid Kansas driver's license
required.
