Early Childhood/Pre-K Teacher

 

Antioch Community Consolidated School District #34 seeks an early childhood special education preschool teacher for the 2012-2013 school year.

    

Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university

·         Illinois Teacher Certification: Type 04 Early Childhood Education and Type 10 Special Education Certification/LBS I Certification 

·         Passion for teaching preschoolers

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Self-motivated with demonstrated time management and organizational skills

·         Ability to perform as part of a collaborative team

 

Job Requirements:

 

·         Write and implement IEP’s, competence with IDEA

·         Collaborative approach with parents and diverse family systems

·         Knowledge of ADHD, autism and developmental delays

·         Strong curricular knowledge related to the learning needs of preschoolers

·         Ability to collect and utilize ongoing formative assessment to drive instruction

·         Work with instructional aides in planning and delivering instruction

·         Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills and flexibility

·         Competence with the Illinois Early Learning Standards
