Qualifications:                         *Current Kansas License with building level leadership endorsement

                                                *Health certificate on file in Devin Center

 

 

Reports To:                             Building Principal

 

Supervises:                              Students and Staff

 

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE

1.       Serve as a full-time member of the JCHS Administrative Team.

2.       Assist the Freshman Academy principal in fulfilling his/her chief responsibility of promoting the educational well being of each student in the school.

3.       Assist in maintaining a positive school climate and discipline for the FSA staff and the student body.

           

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as assistant principal in the absence of the Freshman Academy principal.
  2. Assists assistant principal in professional development for staff in regard to items such as classroom management, MTSS, and building safety.
  3. Assume responsibility for Instructional Coaching.
  4. Will be in charge of technology support for the academy.
  5. Serves as liaison to the Athletic/Activities Director for freshmen athletics and activities; to include transportation, rosters, release times and meetings.
  6. Assist in teacher evaluations.
  7. Assist with facility planning and scheduling of facility; oversees building custodians and maintenance.
  8. Conducts Building safety and disaster drills.
  9. Assist with FSA Parent -Teacher Conferences.
  10. Responsible for Back 2 School Night and August Orientation for the FSA Campus.
  11. Attend school athletic events, school activities and musical performances, as assigned.
  12. Keep up with education developments and effective "best practices" through meetings, reading, workshops, classes, etc.
  13. Will help be responsible for Building Meeting Agendas and In-service
  14. Maintain the FSA Website (SharePoint) and electronic signage for the academy.
  15. Responsible for attending IEP meetings for the FSA Academy.
  16. Assist with lunchroom supervision.
  17. Help with future staffing.
  18. Will also share responsibilities with the Freshman Academy principal, and Academy leader on the following items:

Ø   Read/Math (school improvement initiatives)

Ø   Seminar, RFM, SSR

Ø   Model/Support

Ø   Department resources specific to FSA

Ø   New Teachers

Ø   Relationships (3R's)

Ø   Literacy

Ø   Olweus Bullying Prevention

Ø   Assemblies and Service Learning Days

  1. Other duties as assigned by the principal.

Term of Employment:             10.5 Months

 

Salary Range:                          According to the negotiated agreement

 

Evaluation:                              Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with state regulations and the terms established in the negotiated agreement.
