Qualifications : Associate's degree or equivalent required. Oral & written literacy (bilingual) in both English & Spanish required. Ability to foster positive rapport in schools & the community. Must have a working knowledge of commonly used technology in the workplace. Ability to work flexible hours (some weekend work may be required).
Responsibilities : Provide transition services for school & district documents. Provide interpretation services for school personnel in parent-teacher conferences, enrollment, transportation, ESL parent nights, home visits, or other communication. Support existing school programs for ESL students. Attend ESL staff meetings. Provide other language services that will enhance student achievement & home/school involvement for ESL students & their families. Assist with ACCESS testing, kindergarten screening, & other student testing as needed. Foster relationships to increase Migrant/Latino parental engagement in their child's education. Monitor student progress & provide tutoring as needed to Migrant/Latino students. Other duties as assigned .
Salary : Position is for the 2012-2013 school year. State Salary Scale based on experience with full benefits.
