Regular Contract - 1.0 FTE 
 
Responsibilities
-Positively impact student achievement, using appropriate instructional strategies and strong knowledge of the appropriate curriculum and content area
-Effectively manage the learning environment
-Understand, appreciate and make accommodations for student diversity
-Participate in professional development for continuous learning
-Work with families in a partnership role
-Work collaboratively with colleagues and community
-Follow state legal requirements and district and building policies and procedures
 
Qualifications
Required:
-Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement (or CDE licensure application in process)
-MA in Counseling
-Complete and submitted BVSD on-line application
 
Preferred:
-Experience with school wide adviser/advisee programs
-Bilingual Spanish/English ability
-Skills in outreach to staff, families and community members
-Facilitate academic, personal and social counseling
-Experience with a comprehensive career guidance program
-Substance and other intervention and prevention experience
-Experience conducting student registration, enrollment and scheduling activities
-Ability to manage, analyze, interpret and utilize data.
-Excellent written and verbal skills.
-Experience with students and families in relating district/school practices and policies in regard to attendance, graduation requirements, grades, credits, discipline, and other
-Experience with various educational settings including Advance Placement and/or International Baccalaureate, vocational education and alternative schools
-Ability to organize and facilitate major tasks and events.
-Familiar with the American School Counseling Associate standards.
-Utilize technology and applicable software programs.
