POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The job of the adult
education director is to supervise the adult education program
for Gibson County.
ESSENTIAL Functions:
ADULT
EDUCATION
Adult Education Responsibilities
·
Write projects for Adult Education programs and
administer programs according to federal, state, and local
regulations.
·
Prepare and monitor budgets,
including reimbursement invoices of federal and state funds.
·
Complete and
submit state reports on or before due dates.
·
Recruit, train,
supervise, and evaluate adult education staff.
·
Oversee staff to
ensure all required data is entered correctly in eCMATS.
·
Order equipment,
materials, and supplies.
·
Schedule accessible, convenient
classes to ensure proper placement of staff and students.
·
Plan, schedule, and conduct local
staff development activities and ensure AE staff attends regional
and state staff development activities.
·
Attend local, regional, and state
adult education meetings and national conferences, as
required.
·
Collaborate with
community agencies and business and industry.
·
Conduct public relations
activities, including a recruitment plan to attract prospective
learners.
·
Write grants to
enhance the adult education program.
·
Actively
participate in local literacy council.
·
Follow State
Department of Labor and Workforce Development guidelines.
·
Other duties as
assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum
Qualifications
BS Degree (preferably education)
Experience
:
Job related experience with increasing levels of
responsibility
