Senior Vice President, Products Location: Santa Cruz, CA
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Senior VP, Products, will oversee and lead NTC's cross-functional Portfolio Management System that begins with capturing innovations in the field, moves through product development, marketing, and roll-out. This position includes designing and overseeing content management, and multi-media publications. The Sr. VP, Products will lead collaboration between AO and P&P leadership, in order to strategize, problem-solve, prioritize, and appropriately staff product initiatives. S/he will lead product marketing, in collaboration with Director of Communications, and will join the Academic Office leadership team, sharing in administrative responsibilities.

- Oversee Product Portfolio Management System
- Oversee product publications, multi-media and video
- Develop and oversee a content management system
- Co-lead strategic planning for product development and launch with CAO
- Co-lead AO/P&P Products and Programs Leadership Team with P&P Director, Operations
- Oversee grants, contracts, and general operating expenses with designated leaders in AO
- Lead product marketing strategy and execution in collaboration with Director of Communications
- Contribute to the success of the NTC-Learning Zone in collaboration with Learning Zone, AO and P&P leaders
- Oversee revision process of NTC's Formative Assessment System padfolio for roll-out in July, 2013. Organize, write, and review all mentor, beginning teacher, and leader resources and materials, including web-based and PDF tools. Evaluate successes and challenges of PD marketing, launch, and roll-out. Work with NTC-Learning Zone team, AO and P&P leadership to develop strategic plan for marketing and delivery to clients.
- Responsible for important communication, consultation, and collaboration linkages with the CAO, P&P, Impact, CFO, Communications, and other NTC leaders, as appropriate
- Participate in Strategy Council meetings, and co-lead Academic Office meetings with CAO leaders
Qualifications:
- Masters degree preferred
- Administrative credential
- 10-15 years of high-level management and publishing experience
- Extensive expertise in developing and publishing products and services
- Extensive experience leading a Product Portfolio Management System
- Extensive experience writing grant proposals and reports, monitoring grant implementation
- Extensive experience developing and implementing strategic plans for product marketing
- Extensive experience with budgets (development, analysis and monitoring)
- Fluent technology and multi-media expertise
- Strong ability to develop and oversee a content management system
- Strong expertise leading writing teams and facilitating meetings
- Able to set a strategic vision around product management, and then to execute on a plan to reach that vision
- Expertise in developing, marketing, and overseeing tech and on-line based products
- Proven skills in budget oversight, grant writing, project management, supervision of a team
- Successful experience leading a product portfolio management system, from ideation and development through marketing and launch
- Deep, extensive knowledge of product portfolio strategy, including innovation processes, market and pricing analysis, and product marketing, including on-line marketing expertise
- Information, technology and multi-media publishing expertise
- Excellent collaborator, including strong group facilitation skills
- Exemplary writing and editing skills
- Deep, extensive knowledge of content and pedagogy (literacy, math, science, assessment, English learners, special populations, equity)
- Content management expertise
- Self-reflective, constant learner
