  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in field related to reading, writing, and mathematics or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to pass the District designated post offer screen lift test

 

Preferred:

  • Verified First Aid training and maintenance of First Aid Card and CPR
  • Documented training and work experience with student with autism
  • Demonstrated appropriate training/experience with at-risk students and families
  • Demonstrated ability to work tactfully/cohesively with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community members
  • Demonstrated skills in behavior management techniques in a school setting
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and implement planned services under the Exceptional Student Services teacher and specialist

Contract Terms:

183 Work Days

7 hour work day (hours flexible)

Salary - $16,654

Benefits fall under Schedule B / Nonexempt Employee

 

Description:

1. Assist with duties related to services provided to students with disabilities in a school and community learning environments, including but not limited to instructional assistance

2. Assist teachers to train students to use self-help skills

3. Assist teachers and therapists with activities relating to students' IEP

4. Assist with day to day health care of students as related to the educational program

5. Collaborate with Exceptional Student Services teachers

6. Willingness to work flexible hours

7. Participate in staff development activities; to work with and learn a variety of assistive communication methods

8. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
