Job Summary:
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The
Psychologist will evaluate
pupils referred to determine potential eligibility for special
education programs and/or
services and report to the local education authority on pupils s/he has evaluated.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
>- Current Michigan School Psychologist certification is required.
>- Ability to read, analyze
and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures and government regulations.
>- Ability to solve practical problems and
deal with a variety
of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in \written,
oral, diagram or schedule
form.
>- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students,
peers
and parents.
>- Skill in oral and written communication.
>- Ability to
perform duties with awareness
of all district requirements and Board of
Education policies.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
>- Conduct extensive
psychological examinations of referred students. Tests
may include intelligence, achievement, personality and perceptual motor test.
>- Participate in case conferences when referred students are involved, or as requested.
Be familiar with the RTI and PSW processes.
>- Serve as resource
person concerning handicaps for other school
personnel.
> Interpret diagnoses to school personnel, other appropriate professionals and parents.
> Make recommendations
on ways to assist a student referred to him/her for examination.
> Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to
protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
> Assist the administration in implementing policies and rules governing
student life and conduct.
> Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.

to outside weather conditions. The noise level in
the work environment is occasionally loud.
