Position Description
Title: Staff II Accountant
Choice Schools Associates is a growing organization that operates 11 charter schools
throughout Michigan. These schools serve the educational needs of 5,000 Pre K -12th grade
students.
We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our financial team to
provide leadership/support to school leaders and assist in building the systems needed as
the organization grows. The ideal candidate is self driven, detail oriented, able to manage a
large number of tasks, and is excited about joining a growing organization. In order to

Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:
• Reviews, compares and prepares various financial and legal documents (i.e.
proposals, insurance policies, and applications) for conformation and consistency
•
Preparation of monthly financial statements, payroll reconciliations, and budget
variance analysis
• Ability to understand basic internal controls and company policies as it relates to the
financial statements (i.e. account reconciliations, detailed support, proper approvals,
etc.)
• Ability to follow up on task commitments and give updates as needed
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining
positive attitude and professionalism
Qualifications for this role include:
• BSBA with Accounting Major
• 2 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred
• Excellent oral and writing skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Experience implementing enterprise wide financial software a plus
• Excellent attention to detail
• Skilled in use of Microsoft Excel software and financial reporting software
• Excellent personal and professional references
