POSITION: Middle School Resource Room Teacher - NEMS
SALARY: As Per Master Agreement
AVAILABLE: 2012-2013 School Year
CERTIFICATION: Special Education Certification in at least one area of disability (CI, EI, LD, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Skills/experience teaching students with disabilities to progress in the general education curriculum
* Skills/experience in setting up effective classroom management systems
* Experience with and knowledge of the adolescent learner
* Knowledge of and experience teaching to the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs), Extended Grade Level Content Expectations (
e
GLCEs) and Common Core Curriculum
* Understanding of assessment methods including: progress monitoring, curriculum based measurement, and formative assessment
* Ability to demonstrate Highly Qualified (HQ) status in Math and English Language Arts
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide instruction in the core curriculum areas and social skills per the IEP.
* Work collaboratively with general education and other special education staff to provide successful programming to meet individual needs
* Complete, document, and facilitate IEPs consistent with district, state, and federal laws and guidelines
* Perform Essential Job Functions as listed for this position
* Other duties as assigned
