JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Elementary School Intervention Specialist

 

 

Qualifications:

 

1.             Bachelor or Associates degree Human Services or equivalent.

2.             Prior documented work experience with young children.

3.             Excellent communication skills required.

4.             Excellent technology and data analysis skills.

5.             Professional appearance in dress and manner, polite, courteous and tactful.

6.             Must adhere to strict confidentiality of all student and family information.

 

Reports to:           Building Principal

 

Job Goals:        To assist in effectively using all appropriate resources to improve the learning environment and achievement levels for students.

 

Performance

Responsibilities:    

 

1.                   Assist in the identification of individual students or groups of students with problems of a social or emotional nature which are affecting the learning environment.

 

2.                   Work closely with community health, welfare, police, and tribal agencies to improve the student's learning opportunity.

 

3.                   Work with individual students and/or parents relating to the basic social, emotional, or physical needs as they might affect student attendance, adjustment, and school performance.

 

4.                   Participate in Student Assistance Team for identified At Risk students.

 

5.                   Communicate regularly with parents and professional staff regarding the educational, social and personal needs of students.

 

6.                   Assist in developing ways of involving parents and community in the affairs of the school.

 

7.                   Collect, analyze and share student reading and disciplinary data with relevant professional staff in appropriate groups/settings.  Maintain collected data on relevant web-based programs.

 

8.                   Keep complete, up-to-date and accurate records as required by law, policy, and administrative regulation.

 

9.                   Participate in summer school activities per Master Agreement.

 

10.                Follow prescribed behavior modification techniques.

 

11.                Assist with tracking, analyzing and reporting of student achievement data.

 

12.                Participate in in-service training programs as necessary and appropriate.

 

13.                Other duties as assigned.

 

Terms of Employment:                    Regular school calendar in addition to shared duties for summer school.

                                                   Salary per negotiated agreement

Evaluation:                                    Annually, by building principal
