QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires knowledge of
word processing techniques, proper office methods, techniques
and procedures including report writing and proper telephone
techniques; proper English usage, grammar, punctuation, and
spelling; word processing techniques and computer software
applications.
Must possess the skill to learn the operations, procedures,
policies, and requirements of assigned program, department, or
operational units and apply them with good judgment in a variety
of procedural situations; learn, interpret, and successfully
apply District rules, while independently carrying out a variety
of technical procedures; perform related duties as required.
Must be able to establish and maintain efficient record
keeping/filing systems and prepare routine reports; coordinate
activities and details and maintain schedules of events; analyze
situations and take appropriate action regarding routine
procedural matters without immediate supervision; perform
mathematical calculations accurately; understand and carry out a
variety of oral and written instructions;
type 60 net words per
minute
; take non-verbatim notes/minutes; operate a variety of standard
office machines and equipment; coordinate work flow among
clerical staff and students assistants assigned to program
office, or operational units; ability to deal effectively and
diplomatically with the public and with school employees.
Two years
secretarial/clerical and stenographic experience is required,
preferably involving considerable public contact.
May require the skill to take
dictation at a speed of 80 words per minute and to
transcribe with speed and accuracy.
A RECENT TYPING
CERTIFICATE MUST ACCOMPANY THE APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE

DUTIES OF POSITION:
Perform a variety of complex and
responsible clerical/secretarial duties in support of the
day-to-day operations relating to specific programs and
procedures with the operational units. This job performs a wide
variety of complex and responsible secretarial/operational
support functions and requires the use of initiative, problem
solving skills and independent judgment.
STARTING SALARY:
$2,343.45 (monthly)
