THE POSITION

The primary responsibilities of the Supervisor are to lead the Department of English Language Arts, 6-12 in the development, implementation, and assessment of instructional programs.   As a teacher of teachers, the Supervisor will motivate, assist and evaluate staff in the continuing effort to improve instructional opportunities and outcomes for students, as well as to promote effective professional development of department staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1.              New Jersey Supervisor's certificate and New Jersey Teacher of English certificate.

2.              Master's degree in either English Language Arts or Reading required.

3.              Successful experience in teaching English Language Arts a plus.

4.              Experience with curriculum development, program assessment and staff development.

5.              Demonstrated ability to work effectively in the areas of program implementation.

6.              Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

7.              Required criminal history background check and medical clearance.

8.              Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
