Job Summary: Teacher will teach Spanish to students in grades K-3 using current curriculum. Teacher will also assist in second grade reading class leading small and large group lessons.

Teacher will:

Develop
and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the DS curriculum
program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.

Assist
students in analyzing or improving methods and habits of study. Consistently
assess student achievement through formal and informal assessments and use

Positive Behavioral Interventions should be used when creating your classroom
structure.

Manage
student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board
policies, administrative regulations, and IEP’s.

Work
cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curriculum (as needed)
for special education students according to guidelines established by
Individual Education Plans (IEP’s).

Actively
participate in weekly Response To Intervention and grade level meetings for the
purpose of collaborating with colleagues, reviewing student progress, and
planning and implementing instructional goals.

Use
NWEA Map test data to support your instruction with constant analysis and goal
setting with your students.
·
Attend
and participate in staff meetings, committee meetings, and work sessions as
required by the director or administrator.
·
Promote
professional improvement through reading educational journals and books,
exploring educational research, enrolling in college courses, participating in
all network and campus level professional staff development activities.
·
Comply
with all network policies as outlined in Distinctive Schools Employee Handbook.
·
Compile,
maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. Plan and
supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and or volunteer(s).
·
Establish
and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents,
principals and other colleagues. Fulfill campus requirements for parents
communication.
·
Maintain
a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community
members.
·
Attend
various school events throughout the school year to be a visible face to
families and students.
·
Complete
other tasks/duties as required by Distinctive Schools and the campus leadership
teams/Director.
