ENGLISH /LANGUAGE ARTS SPRING LAKE PARK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DUTY DAYS: 185 DAYS START DATE: 2011-2012 School Year
HOURS: .6 FTE
DUTIES: Candidate will be teaching all areas of Language Arts to Senior High students.
PREFERENCES: Previous experience teaching Secondary English, preferably at the Senior High School level is required. A strong knowledge base of assessment for learning, personalization/differentiation and intervention strategies is highly desired. Ability to teach high school standards in all areas of language arts is important. Courses taught will include mainstream, honors and upper level courses. Additional courses and other certifications/licensure are helpful.
QUALIFICATIONS: Current Minnesota Teaching License in Secondary Language Arts Education required. Candidate must be a strong team player with an enthusiasm for teaching High School age students. Successful candidate will have a good understanding of Professional Learning Communities, an understanding of interdisciplinary planning and teaching, and knowledge of how technology can enhance instruction. A strong interest and desire to work with students of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds is desired.
