Description:
Three (3) Full-time position available for a teacher assistant in Indian Prairie School District 204 to assist the teacher by working with individual students or small groups to achieve teaching objectives.
Job Summary:
Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
Implement strategies to reinforce learning and meet students’ individual needs.
Assist with assessments, implementation of behavior management plans, and other responsibilities as assigned by the teacher or supervisor.
Supervisor non-instructional activities.
Provide services on a one-to-one basis as appropriate.
Qualifications:
To be considered for a position as a teacher assistant, applicants MUST have an NCLB paraprofessional approval. Those with either a valid Illinois teaching or substitute certificate are exempt from obtaining the approval.
For those without the above, applicants must meet at least one of the four requirements: 1. 60 semester hours of college-level credit; or 2. Completed paraprofessional training program approved by ISBE or ICCB; or 3. Passed ETS ParaPro assessment (460 or higher); or 4. Passed WorkKeys assessments (Applied Mathematics-4, Reading for Information-4, Writing/Business Writing-3, and Acceptable on Instructional Support Inventory).
