Qualifications/Experience:
MN
Teaching License in Secondary Education required.
Prefer MN
Teaching License in Mathematics, experience working with at-risk students and working in an alternative program setting.
Skills Needed:
Ability
to work with at-risk students. Knowledge of students' emotional and cognitive
learning development, knowledge of academic discipline areas in mathematics,
knowledge of methodology of effective teaching, knowledge of curriculum
development and selection of appropriate instructional materials. Excellent
skills in developing and presenting ideas effectively both verbally and in
written form. Ability to advocate and communicate with students, parents and
administration. Ability to be flexible as the program continues to be
developed.
Specific Tasks:
Teaming
to meet the needs of programming in the
high school ALC program. Will be teaching mathematics to high school students
needing to meet district and state standards. May be teaching cross subject to
referred students and support program development. Will identify appropriate
curriculum needed to full fill state academic standards. Will need to instruct,
monitor and supervise students
effectively. Will work with parents, teachers and administration to support students
both academically and socially to target school success.
Hours per day:
3.75 hours per day
