Primary Responsibilities
|
To assist with the day to day
operation of the after school child care program
under the leadership and direction of the SACC
Coordinator.
|
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assists the Coordinator in managing
students, planning educational and recreational activities,
documenting attendance, supervising playground activities
and maintaining positive relationships with children,
parents, and all school personnel.

Actively participates in the
program.

Cooperates with the Coordinator and
other site staff to maintain a working relationship that is
both professional and personable.

Provides a positive role model for
children.

Accepts responsibility for reporting to
work on time and maintaining accurate hourly records of
work time.

Clearly conveys instructions for various
activities to children of different age groups in language
they can understand.

Disciplines children in a patient and
understanding manner.
-
Helps prepare program materials.
-
Assists in the daily set-up and clean-up
of program projects.

Assists with routine paperwork.
-
Attends mandatory orientations, weekly
staff meetings and monthly in-service sessions.
-
Attends SACC professional workshops upon
request.
-
Assumes other responsibilities as
assigned and/or discovered.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The SACC Assistant is hired for 174 days
per school year. Daily sessions are three hours in
length with additional time used for staff meetings,
trainings and extended day care. Compensation is
according to the non-certified salary schedule and based upon
position category, experience and years of service.
Non-certified benefits are offered according to full versus
part time status, and explained in the district's benefit
brochure.
EVALUATION
Performance for this position will be
evaluated according to board policy. The Coordinator
and Martin Warren Principal will be responsible for
conducting the evaluation.
