Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
• Ability to work well with teachers and administrators in planning and developing the media program
• Selecting, organizing, and distributing instructional materials, coordinating the media program of curriculum and instruction for CV families and community members
• Participate in building planning, curriculum and data teams
• Facilitate the production of media by students and staff to meet learning objectives
• Serve as a resource consultant for all staff and for special programs including family literacy activities across the community
• Inform and motivate staff, students and families to utilize available media program services and resources
• Establish policies and procedures for effective utilization of materials, resources and staff including district online resources
• Instruct students and staff in the use of media materials and the operations and application of instructional equipment
• Provide reading, listening, viewing and computing guidance for students, families, and community
• Provide materials for the professional growth of the faculty and parent resources for new families/parents
• Participate actively in media and other educational and professional associations on the local, regional and state level.
• Provide support and training regarding on-line services and appropriate applications including ways to integrate into the curriculum and promote usage for professional development and new parents
• In-service teachers on Netiquette, ways to maintain security and safety on the internet and the district Acceptable Use Policy pertaining to on-line usage
• Provide training and support on computer installations and applications
• Prepare regular statistical reports
• Evaluate and select media in cooperation with teachers and students to meet learning activity needs
• Weed obsolete and worn materials from the collection on a regular basis
• Develop a balanced comprehensive collection of media that responds to the need of the curriculum and individual students
• Ability to work at multiple Village/pre-k sites and multiple community partners
• Provide high quality programming in accordance to NAEYC, DHS, QPPS, and Head Start Performance Standards.
• Ability to organize and provide services to families utilizing community partners
• Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV Yes No)
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push 50 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, sit on the floor, and kneel as needed

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student and staff population
• Within 6 mo. of hire will need to acquire CPR and first aid certification and remain current
• Ability to work in a truly collaborative environment
