The Healthy Gardens Project Team Leader will lead gardening, stewardship and nutrition activities for middle school students. The Project Team Leader will work with students to create a school yard garden space, facilitate environmental stewardship activities. The Project Team Leader will serve in a leadership role for the Health Gardens project staff. The Project Team Leader will be expected to work during the school year and summer programming to unsure a successful garden project.
One (1) part-time position available for the 2012-13 school year
Up to 25 hours per week, to end no later than August 30, 2013
$18.00 per hour
This is a temporary, limited duration grant-funded and/or consortium-funded position. This position is not in a bargaining unit, may never be in a bargaining unit and any bargaining unit contracts, benefits and rights do not apply to the position.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or certificate as a Child Development Associate with at least twelve (12) semester hours in elementary education, recreation, community education or child development preferred. Team leadership experience desirable.
Minimum of five (5) years related gardening or agricultural experience. Minimum of two years of experience working with youth or with an organization responsible for providing services to families and children.
