QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree in a related area of
work.
2. Strong oral and written communication
skills, including the ability to develop written
rules, standards, policies, and to conduct
meetings and make group
presentations.

3-5 years experience in a safety field
4. Strong
computer skills

JOB GOAL:
To manage the district custodial program and to develop and
administer an effective health and safety program for all
students and employees with the Bismarck School District.
The position will include an effective Employee Right to Know
Program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Responsible for directing and coordinating a
school wide safety program.
2.
Research, develop and implement safety programs to
enhance, encourage and promote safe work rules, practices and
conditions; and to prevent, detect and correct unsafe practices
and conditions.
3.
Review, interpret and communicate company, state
and federal safety regulations to ensure understanding and
compliance.
4.
Conduct safety meetings with various employee
groups to educate and motivate employees concerning
safety.
5.
Maintain records of company accident and injury
performance, including monitoring worker's compensation
claims.
6.
Responsible for directing and coordinating
custodial operations in the district.
7.
Monitor the procurement of custodial
supplies.
8.
Coordinate the hazard communication program, the
drivers training and truck driving programs and assist with other
programs as required.
9.
Maintain an inventory of all hazardous waste
materials.
10.
Coordinate and maintain the security camera
replacement schedule.
11.
District liaison with the school resource officers
(SROs) related the safety plan and other security
measures.
12.
Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve Months
EVALUATION:
All jobs will be evaluated on a formal basis at least once
per calendar year. Additional evaluations may be
required at the discretion of the supervisor.
