Position Guide: Certificated Personnel – 9 Months
Bargaining Unit Position
Function: To instruct children in such a manner as to inspire, motivate and stimulate the child to learn and develop skills, develop attitude, and to absorb knowledge, to the utmost of the child's learning capabilities.
Qualifications:
State of Illinois Elementary Certificate
Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, public and community relations, and academic competence
To be thoroughly familiar with course outlines, curriculum guides and texts used
Essential Job Functions:
To implement all District policies as they relate to the classroom.
To direct and supervise the conduct of students in the classroom.
To requisition all prescribed instructional materials and supplies necessary to complete the academic program.
To recommend changes and improvements in the curriculum to the principal.
To recommend the assignment of students.
To seek assistance from or through the Principal, the Assistant Principal, the Student Advisor, the Educational Consultant, Coordinators, or other specialists to improve the instructional program or to help solve specific problems.
Must be NCLB Highly Qualified
