Contribute to the warm and welcoming environment at Circle Academy, a non-public Special Education school serving S/ED, BD, LD youth ages 10-21. The Employment Consultant works under the direction of the Vocational Coordinator and/or the Education Director when assigned to a school program to deliver vocational support and opportunities to the clients in the agency’s school programs. Primary responsibilities include training, supervision, and transporting youth at various job sites, appointments, interviews and various activities as needed. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, detail oriented, work well under pressure, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.

           

 

Requirements:
Must meet all requirements for the position as designated by the Illinois State Board of Education.  Preferred Bachelor’s or Associates Degree with 3 years of experience. Prospective employees must be at least 21 years old, have excellent written and oral communication skills, possess a valid Illinois driver's license and proof of auto insurance, and be able to maintain our client’s confidentiality. Must submit to a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.

Founded in 1998, CIRCLE Academy is named for the Circle of Courage model. Today, CIRCLE provides special education and therapeutic intervention to over 70 Champaign County students ages 5-21 who are referred by their home school district because of behavioral or learning disabilities. CIRCLE offers our students: Individualized Special Education Programming Small class sizes (average 2:7 ratio) Individual and Group Therapeutic Counseling Therapeutic Behavior Intervention Programming Vocational Training Opportunities To be considered for enrollment, students must be eligible to receive special education services in one of the disability categories for which CIRCLE Academy has been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education including: • Emotional Disability (ED) • Specific Learning Disability (SLD) • Cognitive Disability (CD) • Other Health Impairment (OHI) • Autism • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) • Developmental Delay (DD) In most cases, the primary disability is Behavior/Emotionally Disordered. The student may have other disabilities which are secondary.
