QUALIFICATIONS
:
1.
Must hold a valid Type 75 Illinois
Administrative Certificate.
2.
Must have a Master's Degree, from an
accredited college or university.
3.
Three years successful administrative
and/or teacher leadership experience.

Ability to organize
relevant programs and to supervise personnel.

Fluent in
Spanish.
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
1.
Responsible for the coordinated planning
and evaluation of all phases of the bilingual and bilingual
special education programs in grades K-12.
2.
Interprets test data, research, new legislation
and state/federal guidelines in terms of program evaluation,
development and compliance.
3.
Cooperates with all principals, directors,
coordinators and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum
& Instruction to provide articulation of district programs,
materials and staff development.
4.
Designs and plans ongoing staff development
programs in concert with other administrators for all
principals, certified and non-certified staff for all
programs.
5.
Provides assistance to teachers in the selection
and/or development of instructional materials and recommends
appropriate textbooks and supplementary materials to the
Assistant Superintendents for Curriculum & Instruction to
support and enhance the district programs in cooperation with
other administrators.
6.
Develops implements and monitors pilot programs,
fields test material and organizes curriculum writing.
7.
Consults with other administrators on an ongoing
basis to ensure coordination and articulation of all district
programs and resources.
8.
Organizes and works with community and parent
groups to solicit their assistance and support with program
development.
9.
Visits bilingual teachers in classroom setting
and provides input to the principal toward the evaluation
process.
10.
Works with and supervises the ongoing
implementation of technology as it relates to all departments
in general.
11.
Coordinates operations among alternative schools
and/or programs for the purpose of improving student academic
success and ensuring district objectives are achieved and
resources are effectively utilized.
12.
Collaborates with others (e.g. school personnel,
district administrators, parents, students, community
organizations, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or
maintaining alternative services and/or programs.
13.
Manages and evaluates a wide variety of program
components for the purpose of delivering services which conform
to established guidelines and regulations.
14.
Coordinates and assists with the development and
submittal of proposals for supplementary funding that is based
on input from administrators, teachers and parents.
15.
Supervises the system of reporting to the
appropriate district officials on the status and progress of
all research and other funded projects.
16.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as
assigned to by the Superintendent of Schools.
