About
Dallas Independent School District
Description:
Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned area and relieves teacher of various non-instructional duties
Assist teacher in the management of student arrival and departure time
Perform supportive tasks for a certified teacher that are primarily non-instructional in nature
Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities
Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activity
Assist in filing, organizing materials for distribution and recording information
Assist in maintaining student records, attendance and files
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S
,
plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment test
Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification
General concepts of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics
Ability to work with people of diverse ethnic groups
