Instructional Leadership
Ensures a clear, focused understanding of the district/campus mission and objectives of achievement for all students.
Facilitates and directs the development and implementation of the Campus Improvement Plan.
Addresses students’ needs, AEIS/AYP indicators, and state/local requirements for student improvement.
Manages work to ensure quality, extended time in the classroom (goal of 40%) to monitor instruction and assist the performance of teachers.
Closely monitors the systematic collection and analysis of data to improve the instructional program and to determine appropriate interventions/modifications for all student groups using benchmark assessments, classroom data, and TAKS results.
Monitors lesson planning and implementation to ensure that alignment of curriculum, instruction and assessment meet TEKS objectives and reflect strategies, which will meet individual student needs.
Administers and integrates all (special education, bilingual/ESL, Title I, etc.) programs within the regular program according to state and federal guidelines.
Provides opportunities for teachers to plan vertically and horizontally.
Personnel Management / Professional Ethics
Effectively interviews, selects and orients new staff; makes sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, eligibility, certification, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
Meets the campus staffing diversity goals for assigned area of responsibility.
Clearly defines expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, established policies and procedures and communication with the public.
Uses developmental supervision effectively and comprehensively with all staff by systematically observing instruction or performance, recording observations, and regularly providing feedback to support teacher and student goals.
Bases daily decisions on ethical principles, honesty and integrity.
Ensures all staff evaluations clearly and accurately represent performance that is aligned with district and campus goals and student achievement.
Fiscal / Facility Management
Supports and monitors local, state, and federal rules, policies and procedures and maintains accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
Complies with budgeting and purchasing guidelines and demonstrates responsible fiscal control over the school budget and activity fund.
Budgets and allocates resources such as money, time, facilitates, volunteers, and technology in a timely manner to achieve learning goals.
Supervises maintenance of the school facility to ensure clean, orderly and safe buildings/grounds.
Organizational Structures & Procedures
Establishes organizational structures and practices for all stakeholders that result in the effective and efficient operation of the campus to promote student achievement.
Formulates action plans and modifies programs and procedures to improve all campus efforts.
Uses organizational skills to resolve problems and make decisions necessary to improve the school’s operating systems.
Ensures efficient organization of all campus efforts through appropriate delegation and follow-up.
Develops an effective master schedule to maximize learning for all students.
Prepares, completes and maintains appropriate required documentation and records that are current and accurate. Submits requested information in a timely manner
Professional Growth & Development
Designs and participates in a personal professional development plan to improve professional skill and knowledge which is based on student achievement, campus, district and state needs.
Monitors classroom performance of all teachers on a regular basis offering pathways to improve individual student performance through improved teaching practices.
Evaluates the effectiveness of staff development to improve student learning and modifies as necessary.
Collaboratively plans and implements ongoing, effective staff development program for the campus.
School Climate
Communicates and promotes high expectation levels for staff and student performance in an enabling, supportive way; provides proper recognition of excellence and achievement.
Mediates and facilitates effective resolution of conflicts among faculty, staff, students and parents.
Supports and promotes the learning community with delegation of authority, team building among all stakeholders, creative problem solving and development of consensus and collaborative decision-making process.
Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents and community.
Student Management
Develops a management system that encourages positive student behavior, self-esteem, and a supportive climate to facilitate maximum academic achievement.
Promotes activities that ensure positive student conduct and fair, equitable discipline practices.
Ensures that school rules are uniformly observed and that consequences of misconduct are applied equitably to all students.
Effectively conducts conferences with parents, students, and teachers concerning school, district and student issues; conveys both the positive aspects of student behavior as well as problem areas.
School and Community Relations
Involves parents in collaborative educational efforts toward student and school improvement.
Identifies, communicates, and addresses the educational needs of the children of the community.
Promotes community understanding of/and support for the school/district mission, goals and initiatives.
Creates community and business partnerships and connections to enrich learning opportunities for students.

Selection Procedure:
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to Compensation guidelines. A campus-based professional employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the Executive Director - Human Resources.
