Child nutrition assistant manager position-7 hours per day, Plymouth Middle School  

Category one ($11.68 - $15.48 per hour based on 2012-13 schedule for child nutrition employees plus an additional $1.50 per hour) plus benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist manager in supervision of all aspects of daily production, planning and service for building food service operation.
• Assist in all ordering.  Responsible for inventory and communicating on-hand inventory to manager.  Establish and maintain a system for storing and inventory of food supplies.  Responsible for month-end and year-end inventory.
• Assist in providing direction and training to child nutrition staff in assigned building regarding routine assignments and special directions.
• Assist in implementation of new products and/or procedures to encourage and increase participation.
• Develop and maintain cooperative productive workplace relationships in manner that creates a pleasant environment for all those serving and those being served.
• Assist manager to ensure proper sanitation, safety standards and regulations are in place and followed.  Provide ongoing training and monitoring to ensure compliance.  Ensure monthly sanitation records are correct and recorded.
• Assist in resolving conflicts among staff, students and parents in a timely and professional manner.
• Additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED  

• Skill in supervision, time management and organization as related to quality foodservice operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow through with staff to ensure direction is followed.
• Knowledge and understanding of USDA child nutrition program regulations.
• Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• MN Dept of Health Food Managers’ Certificate
• Quantity food service experience preferred
