Introduction: West Metro Education Program (WMEP), Joint Powers District, #6069, is an 11-school district consortium comprised of Minneapolis and ten neighboring suburban school districts, whose mission is to build the collective capacity of its members; to raise the achievement of all students; to eliminate the racial achievement gap; and to prepare all learners to thrive in a diverse world through regional leadership, integrated learning opportunities, shared resources, and mutual support. FAIR School Crystal 3915 Adair Avenue North, Crystal, MN. FAIR School Crystal is the second interdistrict magnet school built and operated by WMEP. It currently has 560 students in grades 4 through 8. As a recipient of the Creative Ticket National School of Distinction Award from the Kennedy Center, FAIR School Crystal fully integrates fine arts into its curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide creative and innovative approaches to teaching dance.
- Familiarity with grades K-12 content standards.
- Ability to imbed and remedial skills needed to master basic standards in subject area.
- Familiarity with assessments and testing.
- Ability to differentiate curriculum to address a wide range of needs within the classroom.
- Ability to develop and implement interdisciplinary curriculum with team members and the arts.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with the grade level teachers to develop programs.
- Ability to manage the classroom and to build positive relationships with parents.
- Ability and willingness to work with a team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Minnesota teaching license in dance/theatre.
- Experience teaching in a diverse setting preferred.
