Description:
Program Support Assistant, Special Education - Specific Learning Disabilities plus Supervision at Jackson Elementary - 4 hours SLD Para and 2 hours Playground/cafeteria supervision for a total of 6 hours per day on student days.
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, behavioral, organizational, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
Qualifications:
Position requires a H.S. diploma.
Prefer 2 years of post-secondary training or AA degree in child development.
Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district.
Previous experience with young students preferred.
Working Conditions:
Classroom environment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in all types of weather.
