Position Start Date: August 2012
Position Purpose: To provide administrative assistance in the areas of student support and supervision, staff support, and program management to Pioneer Ridge Middle School.
Prerequisites for Consideration: Successful experience as an elementary or middle school teacher/counselor; strong organizational, communication, and human relations skills; commitment to the development of successful students and a positive learning environment; and demonstrated interest in administration. Preference will be given to candidates that possess an Administrative/Principal License or that are enrolled in an Educational Administration and Leadership graduate program.
Position Reports To: Building Principal
Compensation: Determined by placement on the teacher (CEA) master schedule.

Administrative Dean Responsibilities
¨ Assist in developing, implementing, promoting and enhancing a positive school climate and culture
¨ Manage discipline issues for 6<SUP>th</SUP>, 7<SUP>th</SUP> and 8<SUP>th</SUP> grade students
¨ Maintain a system for logging behavior interventions and tracking data on discipline
¨ Conduct suspension re-entry meetings with students and their parents
¨ Serve as administrative designee in IEP meetings as needed
¨ Arrange for and schedule lunchroom supervisors and supervise the lunchroom
¨ Supervise overall operation of the Responsibility Center
¨ Conduct policy and educational presentations to students and staff on issues such as harassment, weapons, gangs and other issues.
¨ Facilitate and serve on the Intervention Team.
¨ Complete and file discipline reports with the district and the state.
¨ Arrange for extended day/week supervision.
¨ Assign and oversee before and after school building supervision assignments.
¨ Manage bus referrals.
¨ Organize and prepare the student handbook
¨ Work closely with Assistant Principal to establish Fire, Tornado, and Lockdown drills and procedures.
¨ Prepare student data related to academic progress, attendance, and behavior
¨ Meet with teams on a regular, scheduled basis to review student progress data, design rewards and support systems , and advocate for students’ emotional, social and behavioral needs
¨ Assist in the supervision of the facility
¨ Plan school wide assemblies and celebrations
¨ Organize and oversee the building’s PBIS Pride program including establishing and maintaining positive, proactive data based interventions
¨ Demonstrate a strong knowledge of current trends and best practices in middle school education and school law
¨ Interpret and reinforce the student and parent information in the student handbook
¨ Conduct meetings with parents, students and teachers regarding student behaviors and progress
¨ Collaborate and team with school resource officers, counselors, nurse, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and outside agencies in regard to student needs
¨ Assist with the planning and implementation of the middle level advisory program
¨ Assist the Assistant Principal with state testing as needed
¨ Work collaboratively with the school counselors to best meet students’ emotional, social, and behavioral needs as it relates to their academic success
¨ Perform other duties as may be assigned by the principal and assistant principal
