QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; three to
five years of experience in a related field such as public
relations, marketing, promotions, community relations and
parent involvement, volunteer programs and fund
development
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Must be creative, innovative and understand how marketing
messages change attitudes and behaviors
- Strong consultative, collaboration and influencing skills
to guide communication approaches in support of business
strategies and overarching vision
- Must be able to provide accurate inferences regarding data
trends
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently with
minimal supervision
- Effective leadership, team-building and supervisory skills;
ability to meet deadlines; tact, diplomacy and flexibility
- Superior verbal communication and relationship skills with
strong customer-service orientation
- Experience in corporate or nonprofit environments
- Skills in written communication, oral presentation, and
program planning and organization
- Experience in working with the public and communicational
media in providing information and interpreting programs
- Knowledge of local media, schools, community issues and
governmental processes
- Must have a portfolio of work to demonstrate professional
proficiencies
- Ability to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan
with measurable impact outcomes
- Strong organizational, excellent speaking, public relations
and event management skills
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently and to
positively engage staff and community in efforts
- Commitment to the philosophy of a multi-cultural,
multi-ethnic environment
BASIC FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement comprehensive, strategic and
outcome-based marketing campaigns
- Create brand marketing communications that provide value
added services for our multiple distribution channels.
- Develop marketing strategies to change attitudes and
behaviors through multiple tactics
- Communicate and collaborate with outside marketing and
advertising agencies on projects and campaigns as
required.
- Develop and implement marketing, public relations,
promotional and advertising plans
- Collaborate with departments and schools to develop
messaging and marketing plans
- Utilize multi-media, multi-level communications and
technology to accomplish marketing plans; utilizes multiple
databases for targeted marketing and advertising campaigns
- Monitor internal and external marketing trends and news
coverage, and assists with strategic responses; evaluates
marketing reactions to marketing/advertising programs and
formulates adjustments to meet changing market conditions
- Research, analyze and monitor trends using focus groups and
other feedback tools; uses data collection to evaluate
marketing techniques and suggests strategic improvements
- Develop corporate and community leader relationships to
enhance promotion activities; create customer and partner
outreach, communication and education programs
- Develop, monitor and report on performance measures that
document the effectiveness of marketing and tourism
initiatives; make recommendations based on return on
investment
- Develop and manage marketing and advertising materials
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
