This Educational Assistant position is a unique one! This person will serve as the 5th special for students in grades 1-5 (informally referred to as the SSR Para). He/she will be responsible for teaching one lesson per week for each grade. He/she will use literature to build on language arts concepts, using the Reading Street Program. The focus of these lessons will cover the following diverse topics that fall under the Speaking, Listening and Viewing component of Reading Street: Formal and informal speaking, compare and contrast, retelling a story, knowing your audience and oral presentations.
