Job Title: Data Coach/ Instructional Facilitator 7-12

 

Term of Employment:   Eleven Months Contract

 

Immediate Supervisor:   Central Office Instructional Staff

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

Under the supervision of the Curriculum and Instructional Supervisory staff and in collaboration with building level principals, mentor and provide technical support to apprentice teachers, provide information and strategies to classroom teachers in best practices, assist in the development of interventions for at-risk students; responsible for analyzing district assessment data and providing guidance for data analysis to all system personnel, and serve as assistant test coordinator.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

 

·          Promotes improved school performance by developing trust and building positive relationships, providing encouragement and emotional support for teachers;

 

·          Conducts conferences with identified teachers on a prescribed basis;

 

·          Stays current with and facilitates communication about research-based instructional practices;

 

·          Recommends teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and assessment practices for

classroom use to enhance teaching-learning situations;

 

·          Works collaboratively with other instructional leaders to design and conduct staff development as required;

 

·          Assists with future growth plans for teacher upon request of the principal;

 

·          Secures, develops, and distributes instructional resources and materials for classroom use;

 

·          Monitors the content relevance and effectiveness of instructional materials in terms of

established objectives;

 

·          Supports teachers in all content areas and the instructional process through regular classroom visits including co-planning, co-teaching, modeling, and constructive feedback with a focus on continuous improvement;

 

·          Understands and is able to articulate and support teachers with the evaluation process

 

·          Demonstrates understanding of state standards for scope and sequence and alignment across grade levels;

 

·          Collaborates with and assists teachers in analyzing and developing effective lesson plans;

 

·          Demonstrates a high degree of technology expertise as an instructional tool;

 

·          Represents the schools and the community in a positive manner;

 

·          Moves about the school system during school hours as needed in the performance of

assigned duties and responsibilities;

 

·          Responsible for gathering all assessment data and compiling into a useable format to analyze and present results to the leadership team;

 

·          Interprets state and local standardized tests data and makes recommendations for intervention

Strategies;

 

·          Assists teachers in analyzing classroom and state assessment data to inform instruction and make recommendations for intervention strategies;

 

·          Performs such other duties as assigned by the   Curriculum and Instructional Staff

 

·          Serves as the assistant testing coordinator for the District including training others on process and procedure

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

Holds a valid Tennessee teacher's license with a secondary endorsement

 

A minimum of a master's degree

 

A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:   Experience across 7-12 grade levels

                                                      Experience in comprehensive assessment and data analysis

                                            

 

  EVALUATION:

 

Conducted by the Superintendent with input from the administrative staff
