Job Title: MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL STUDENTS WITH UNIQUE NEEDS PROGRAM (SUN) MULTI-CATEGORICAL (EBD, DCD, ASD, OHD) TEACHER - CANNON RIVER EDUCATION CENTER
Job Description: A full-time (1.0 FTE) Middle/High School Level multi-categorical (EBD, DCD, ASD, OHD) teacher at Cannon River Education Center’s SUN Program. This position works with elementary age students with unique needs who qualify for service under multiple special education categories and may have a mental health diagnosis. This position commences with the 2012-13 school year on August 27, 2012.
Qualifications: Experience working with elementary school age students in the areas of EBD, DCD, ASD, OHD; knowledge of MN criteria and the evaluation process including Functional Behavior Assessments; developing a highly structured learning environment, differentiated curriculum, utilize visual schedules and prompts and sensory integration techniques. Must have an understanding of the use of Positive Behavior Supports; knowledge of how to write a Behavior Intervention Plan; knowledge of due process procedures; ability to work with a team; training or willingness to be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and Judicious Discipline; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Licensure: Licensure by the State of Minnesota in one or more categories; EBD, DCD and ASD certification preferred
