New Milford Public Schools has an opening for a part-time (.51) elementary special education teacher. The teacher will be responsible for case management, direct instruction and consultation with other staff for students with significant hearing impairments or who are deaf. Responsibilities include instruction and the provision of curriculum modifications for students in regular education environment, along with facilitation of communication between home, school-based team and independent consultants. Must have fluent skills in sign-language and training and experience with teaching students who are deaf. Experience with Visual Phonics helpful.
Candidates must hold or be eligible for Connecticut certification as a Special Education Teacher. Salary will be based on experience and degrees.
