Qualifications:
*Knowledge of the principles of effective
teaching
*Knowledge of the fundamentals of the sport
*Coaching experience is
preferred
*Playing experience in high School and/or College
preferred
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Knowledge of district and state athletic guidelines
*Good health & physical condition must be able to lift 50
pounds
*Current TB skin test on file
*CPR and First Aid
Certification-Required
*Bloodborne Pathogens
Training-Required
*Valid driver's license

Supervises:
Student Athletes
BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
Assist Head Coach in establishing and leading a cohesive 7-12
athletic program in his/her respective sport that supports
the district philosophy for athletics.
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Carries out assignments as outlined by the head
coach.
2.
Works cooperatively with head coach in all
matters related to coaching assignment.
3.
Attends and participates in coaches
meetings/clinics/camps necessary to the development of the
program.

Attends all games as assigned
by the head coach.

Supervises student-athletes
before/during/after practices and games to ensure safe
environment.

Supervises student-athletes in
locker room and on bus trips to ensure safe
environment.

Teaches fundamentals,
philosophy, skills and techniques as outlined by the head
coach.

Leads practice following the
head coach's schedule of activities.

Assists monitoring student
athletes during the season and the off season as assigned
by the head coach.

Assists in the care/safety of
equipment and facilities including issue, collection,
inventory and storage.

Recommends to the Head Coach:
awards for the athletes, facility improvements, equipment
to be purchased, schedule improvements, etc.

Reports to the Head Coach any
problems or concerns.

Ability to maintain regular
attendance and report at the requested time.

and cooperatively with others.

information requests in a courteous, timely and helpful
manner.

Ability to manage job
responsibilities while meeting established
deadlines.

Ability to supervise student
athletes in multiple settings including but not limited to
locker room, gym, bus, and other facilities in and out of
district

Ability to attend all games in
and out of district including playoffs.

frequently works extended hours.
