  Hope Academy, a new Christian school serving students in grades 5-8 in the Glenwood neighborhood of Greensboro, seeks a Reading Specialist/Language Arts Teacher for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. After serving the Glenwood community through an after-school tutoring program for the past 10 years, we are expanding to open a full-day private school featuring small class sizes and a supportive, collaborative team of dedicated teachers. We are searching for a teacher who embraces the creative freedom of a newly-formed independent school, desires to educate students not only academically but also socially and spiritually, and demonstrates the skills and passion necessary to accelerate students who are in many cases multiple grade levels behind in reading.

Qualifications:
Must be a committed Christian, active in a local church and in agreement with Hope Academy's statement of faith
Must maintain high standards of personal, spiritual, and professional growth and conduct
Background in education and reading instruction (at least 2 years classroom, minimum BS/BA in Education or equivalent, Master's degree preferred)
Ability to skillfully manage a classroom of varying academic skills and learning styles
Ability to enthusiastically and competently implement Hope Academy's curriculum and support the school's educational philosophy and approach
