Duties & Responsibilities:  (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

·   Teach a variety of literature and intervention courses

·   Be willing to be trained in Read 180

·   Be an active member of a building data team

·   Ability to accommodate a variety of learning styles

·   Ability to work and teach in a diverse environment

·   Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and parents to help all students achieve at high levels

·   Promotes and maintains high academic expectations for all students

·   Frequently communicates progress, concerns and celebrations with caregivers

·   Strong comfort level with the integration of technology into the classroom

·   Willingness to support the building Read a Million Words initiative

·   Supervision of students on school grounds for short periods of time as assigned immediately before or after school

·   Other duties as assigned by the Principal

·   Endorsement Required: [119] or [120]

 


Physical Requirements of Position:  (HBV   Yes   No)

·   Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.


Special Qualification Desired:  (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)

·   Endorsement in Reading Preferred [148] or [149]

·   Positive feelings about all students

·   Motivatinal skills to get students excited about reading

·   Strong classroom management skills

·   Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students and their families to insure that each child reaches his/her full potential
