6th-8th grade Art Part-Time

GCS is currently accepting applications for 6th through 10th grade teachers for the 2012- 2013 school year. Currently, GCS schools provide college preparatory curriculum for grades 6-9th. GCS teachers design weekly lessons plans, develop standards-based assessments, analyze assessment data, and create intervention plans to meet our scholars’ needs. In addition, GCS teachers integrate technology effectively in the classrooms, and implement project-based learning. The GCS school day runs from 7:15 am to 4:45 pm.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of effective teaching experience
• Must hold a current TN teaching license in appropriate subject area
• Proven experience with providing high quality instruction geared to student
• mastery as evident in student performance data
• Belief that all students can learn at high academic levels
• Highly proficient in MS Office, student online curriculum and intervention programs, teacher online grade book programs, and the effective use of the Internet
• Undergraduate and/or graduate majors aligned to subject-area certification
• Strong knowledge of academic and behavior interventions
